Working module

What is the working module?

The working module is the single module on which you are working at a given time. By default, no working module is defined when you open Neos Studio. You can therefore create, modify and delete elements belonging to any module that is not read-only. When you set a working module, then you can only modify and delete the metadata belonging to this module. This is useful to avoid making changes to other modules by mistake. Each newly created element is automatically affected to the working module.

Warning

The automatic affectation of new elements to the working module is triggered when saving. You can disregard the placeholder module displayed before saving when you create a new element.

Warning

Activating overriding modifies the way changes made to the metadata are handled. For more informations, check this article.

How to set the working module?

The working module is set using the Properties button located above the Neos Studio explorer.
